HALIFAX, Canada (Reuters) - Canadian forecasters have measured hurricane-speed winds from buoys near the center of Earl and view the storm as a Category One hurricane.
Chris Fogarty, program supervisor at the Canadian Hurricane Center, said the wind speeds were at a hurricane-speed 64 knots, or 120 km/h (73 miles an hour). "We are still classifying this storm as a hurricane," he said.
